Schleswig-Holstein Tourism Day 2026

Schleswig-Holstein Tourism Day on October 29, 2026, in Grömitz

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, this year’s Schleswig-Holstein Tourism Day will take place in Grömitz.

The Tourism Day Schleswig-Holstein is an annual industry meeting of the IHK Schleswig-Holstein and is supported by the Hotel- und Gaststättenverband Schleswig-Holstein e.V., the German Institute for Tourism Research (FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences), the Tourismus-Agentur Schleswig-Holstein GmbH and the Tourismusverband Schleswig-Holstein e.V..

Under the theme “The Future Is Coming—Are We Ready?”, the event will explore how companies and destinations can actively shape change, identify opportunities early on, and ensure their long-term viability. The focus will be on both new perspectives and approaches that have proven effective in practice.

Look forward to practical ideas, the latest findings from academia and the field, as well as insights into successful strategies and innovative concepts from companies in northern Germany. Beyond the presentations and discussions, you can have fun experiencing the potential applications of artificial intelligence in tourism through a digital escape challenge.

The 2026 Schleswig-Holstein Tourism Day will be moderated by Professor Dr. Bernd Eisenstein, Director of the German Institute for Tourism Research. In addition, the German Institute for Tourism Research will be represented with two presentations: Professor Dr. Eric Horster will deliver a keynote speech on the topic “Automation vs. Humanization: The New Interaction Between Machines and Humans.” Ms. Krüger, together with Dr. Yarar (Institut für Tourismus- und Bäderforschung in Nordeuropa GmbH (NIT)), will provide insights from the RA Business on the MICE segment in Schleswig-Holstein.
