Summary

This brief report presents findings on guest behavior at three AIR use-case destinations, which were obtained through detailed analyses—such as overlap and source-mark analyses conducted by the company wetter.com—to address specific research questions using global sensor data (so-called “mobile location events”). In previous short reports, Multispot measurement systems (global sensor technology) have already been evaluated for their suitability for various use cases as well as for use in the AIR project, and the available frequency data has been descriptively analyzed (see Engelhardt et al., 2024a, Engelhardt et al., 2024b). Findings from further analyses can help to better understand the visitor behavior of specific groups or at specific locations and to develop targeted measures for optimizing visitor flows and promoting sustainable tourism.
