"Development of an evaluation tool to measure the brand strength of destinations"

The dissertation focused on the methodology for measuring the brand strength of destinations. A wide variety of measurement methods are currently used in the service industry. Based on these, a procedure adapted to the special features of destinations was developed and tested using the example of Spain.

The dissertation was carried out at the University of Trier, Chair of Economic and Social Geography and at the FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences, Heide/Holstein. The initial supervision was provided by Prof. Dr. Ingo Eberle, University of Trier. A doctoral scholarship from the state of Schleswig-Holstein supported the doctoral student. The dissertation was also supported by the Spanish Tourist Board (Berlin) and the UN World Tourism Organization (Madrid).
