The topic of digital visitor management has been an important part of sustainable destination development not only since the coronavirus pandemic, but has become even more important as a result. The research project “State-wide digital visitor management for tourism in Schleswig-Holstein (LAB-TOUR SH)” by the German Institute for Tourism Research at the FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the partners FuE-Zentrum FH Kiel GmbH, ADDIX GmbH and Lufthansa Industry Solutions AS GmbH addresses these issues.
The overarching aim of the overall project is to design an effective state-wide digital visitor management system and implement it as far as possible. This is intended to contribute to sustainable and balanced tourism development in Schleswig-Holstein by avoiding temporary and regional overloads. The systems already active in Schleswig-Holstein are a good basis, but extensive research and development work is still required to expand and integrate the existing approaches.
The research data for the following measurement areas are available in the download area of the website: Bay of Lübeck - Baltic Sea (parking lots) - Schlei - West Coast - Holstein Switzerland (motorhome parking lots)
The research data of the sensor locations can be viewed on the Eco Visio platform. To use the platform, a user profile will first be created for you. If you are interested, please contact Prof. Dr. Julian Reif.
