The trend towards monitoring one’s own bodily functions with new technical aids, so-called “wearables”, turns people into data providers in everyday life. This emotional and bodily function data can be enriched with geocoordinates in order to gain new insights into the spatiotemporal behavior of tourists and to measure the associated experiences on site at an emotional level. In addition to points of interest (POI), which are usually defined by their status, function or visitor interest, points of emotion (POE) can be identified in the space that trigger a positive or negative emotional reaction from tourists.
The aim of the research project is to examine whether tourist "points of emotion" can be identified and mapped using body sensor measurements and which parameters play a role in the emotional reaction to tourist spaces.
