Project description

In collaboration with Outdooractive and Munich University of Applied Sciences, this project is developing innovative teaching methods that address the current challenges and conditions in the tourism industry (shortage of skilled workers, the growing importance of digitalization and sustainability, …) and empower students, as future professionals, to shape tourism in a sustainable manner. Collaboration with project partners, the COIL approach, and the use of modern platform technologies as part of the degree program play a central role in this effort. In this way, the project supports an important transfer of knowledge between teaching, research, and practice.

Project goals

  • Development, application, and evaluation of innovative teaching concepts in the field of sustainability-oriented tourism through the use of platform technologies.
  • Empowering college students to shape the future of tourism in a sustainable way as future professionals.
  • Development of a digital toolkit for tourism and related degree programs (e.g., Applied Economic Geography) that enables students to translate theoretical knowledge from the fields of sustainability and climate protection, digitalization, destination management, landscape design, etc., into digital applications using real-world examples from the tourism industry.
