Research project AIR invites you to the digital closing event

The research project “AI-based Recommender for Sustainable Tourism” (AIR) is entering its final phase after three years of research. At the end of the project, the participants cordially invite tourism professionals, partners and interested parties to a digital closing event on November 28, 2024 between 10:00 and 13:00.

The project AIR focused on the development of AI-based technologies in the context of digital visitor management, which are intended to promote sustainable tourism by intelligently managing visitor flows. The aim was to relieve the pressure on tourist hotspots and at the same time make alternative destinations more attractive. This approach is intended to reduce the negative effects of overtourism and make sparing use of the tourist infrastructure. Funding is provided by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.

The closing event will present the key results of the project. Experts from tourism research and practice will provide insights into the methods developed and discuss their possible applications in the real tourism environment. The event also offers space for an intensive exchange on the insights gained and their significance for the future of sustainable tourism.

Interested parties can now register for the event at the following link:
