New Release in Our Series: Tourism Psychology—Foundations and Determinants of Travel Behavior
The anthology *Tourism Psychology: Foundations and Determinants of Travel Behavior*, edited by Anne Köchling, Bernd Eisenstein, Sven Groß, and Martin Lohmann, is the fourth Volume in the publication series of the German Institute for Tourism Research to be published.
Psychological concepts and processes—such as personality, motivation, attitudes and images, decisions, and experiences—play a defining role in travel behavior, as well as in the preparation for and reflection on travel. The chapters (in German and English) of this innovative book explore a wide range of aspects of tourism psychology within the vacation travel process:
- Research Methods in Tourism Psychology: What Makes Them Unique and How Data Quality Is Ensured
- Motivations for Travel, Destination Images, and Travel Decisions: How They Are Connected and How Travel Decisions Lead to Satisfaction
- Vacation Experiences: How Memorable Experiences Come About and What Effects They Can Have—for Example, on Health, Prestige, or Personal Development
- Specific questions and target groups: For example, what encourages sustainable behavior, how vacation travelers can be categorized, or how business and leisure travel behavior differ
The book provides interdisciplinary insights for researchers and students, policymakers, associations, and professionals in the tourism industry. It is now available in print and can also be downloaded via open access at the following link: https://www.esv.info/978-3-503-24072-2.
