New publication: “Towards Sustainable and Resilient Tourism Futures” – Volume 1 of the publication series of the German Institute for Tourism Research published
The English-language anthology entitled “Towards Sustainable and Resilient Tourism Futures”, which has just been published by Erich Schmidt Verlag (ESV) and forms the first Volume of the publication series of the German Institute for Tourism Research, takes an international look at various aspects of sustainability (economic, ecological, social) that are highly relevant for the future of tourism. In twelve chapters, the work combines case studies from a total of nine countries, which were written by members of the International Competence Network of Tourism Research and Education (ICNT). Under the overarching themes of “Sustainability and Resilience”, the researchers’ contributions provide insights into the sustainability attitudes and behaviors of selected tourist groups, wildlife conservation management, the management of sustainability issues by industry stakeholders, and strategies to address COVID-19 induced problems in the industry. The editorial team of the anthology was also international with Dr. Anne Köchling, Dr. Sabrina Seeler (both FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences), Professor Dr. Peet van der Merwe (North-West University, South Africa) and Professor Dr. Albert Postma (NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands). The book can be ordered from the ESV and is available to download free of charge as an e-book: https://www.esvmedien.de/978-3-503-21195-1
