LAB-TOUR SH joint research project publishes final report and fourth guide for digital visitor management in tourism
The project term of the research project “State-wide digital visitor management for tourism in Schleswig-Holstein (LAB-TOUR SH)” expired at the end of June and the project has continued to run at full speed in recent weeks. The aim was to design an effective state-wide digital visitor management system and, as far as possible, to implement it as a prototype in order to contribute to sustainable tourism development by providing targeted information on temporary congestion at points of interest. The project participants from research (Kiel University of Applied Sciences) and business (Addix GmbH and Lufthansa Industry Solutions) have been able to make great progress in digital visitor management over the past year and a half in the project funded by the European Recovery Fund for Cohesion and the Territories of Europe (REACT-EU) as part of the operational program of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in Schleswig-Holstein. The results and experiences of this exciting research work were published on 21.07.2023 in an integrative overall concept in detailed report form, which can be viewed on the project website and in the Zenodo community. At the same time, the fourth guide in the series “Guide to digital visitor management” was published, which is primarily aimed at tourism practitioners and deals with questions relating to the implementation of digital visitor management. The fourth guide contains everything you need to know about recommenders and is available to download from the Zenodo community. Each guidebook in the series also contains a compact summary of the most important insights covered as well as step-by-step instructions for the destinations.
