From greenwashing to quality of life for locals – German Institute for Tourism Research presents research findings at the DGT Annual Conference in Bern

The 25th Annual Conference of the German Society for Tourism Science (DGT) took place in Bern from 8 to 10 December 2022 on the topic of “Tourism and green transformation – aspects of tourism in the transition to climate neutrality”.

We are very pleased to have had the opportunity to present the German Institute for Tourism Research and our activities in a short presentation at the conference. We were also represented with three conference contributions: Rebekka Weis was able to present her contribution on the topic of “Greenwashing in CSR reports – developing a quality benchmark for greenhouse gas data” in the form of a poster presentation. In addition, Dr. Sabrina Seeler, together with Manfred Tautscher from the SINUS Institute, presented the current status of the intersection analysis of the Sinus-Milieus and BeST holidaymaker types. Dr. Anne Köchling and Manon Krüger also presented the first interim results from the study to analyze the perceived contribution of tourism in the place of residence to the quality of life of Germans. Prof. Dr. Christian Antz moderated the session “Political framework conditions and entrepreneurial initiatives for climate protection”.

Many thanks to the DGT – especially to Dr. Monika Bandi Tanner – for the great organization and the exciting conference and supporting program!
