Announcement: Nature and tourism symposium under the motto “Sustainability is the new normal”
Nature and Tourism Symposium under the motto “Sustainability is the new normal” The Nature and Tourism Symposium will once again take place in Westerland/Sylt on November 2, 2023. The event is being organized by the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park together with Nordsee-Tourismus-Service GmbH (NTS), Dithmarschen Tourismus e.V., WWF and FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences. The varied program includes the presentation of various projects, short keynote speeches and a panel discussion with the participation of the FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences, all of which deal with the connection between sustainability and tourism. This will encourage an open exchange between stakeholders on important, current topics. Two projects of the DI Tourismusforschung of the FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences will also be presented at the symposium: Labtour SH (=Landesweites Digitales Besuchermanagement für den Tourismus in Schleswig-Holstein) and AIR (=AI-based Recommender for Sustainable Tourism). The aim is to make a contribution to sustainable tourism development by providing visitors with targeted information on capacity utilization and, above all, temporary overload at tourist attractions and suggesting appropriate alternative excursion destinations in the form of a recommender system.
